DescriptionDecided to purchase an additional 450 000 tonnes of rice from the 2022 harvest in order to help domestic rice prices recover from the steep declines registered as a consequence of local production exceeding domestic demand. This would bring total volumes to be procured domestically from a single harvest to a high of 900 000 tonnes.
