DescriptionMediated at an agreement between sector representatives that would have millers pay rice farmers a minimum of GYD 4 000 per bag (USD 279 per tonne) of paddy harvested during the first cropping cycle of 2023/24. To facilitate the implementation of this agreement, millers and exporters would have their payment of the sales commission for rice, paddy and their by-products waived for the first crop of 2023/24.
