DescriptionImposed an immediate stockholding limit on wheat, effective until March 2024, in an effort to bring down prices. The government has also decided to release 1.5 million tonnes of wheat to bulk consumers and traders from central batches in the first phase under the Open Market Sales Scheme. The stock limit applies to traders, wholesalers, retailers, large chain retailers and processors.
