DescriptionAccording to press reports, announced that it would discontinue the subsidies extended to importers that allowed 100% and 5% broken rice to be sold at reduced retail prices since August 2023. As a result, the retail price of a 50 kg bag of 100% broken rice would increase from XOF 17 500 (USD 0.58 per kg) to XOF 21 500 (USD 0.71 per kg), while the price of a 50 kg bag of 5% broken rice would rise from XOF 22 500 (USD 0.74 per kg) to XOF 24 000 (USD 0.79 per kg).
