DescriptionLowered the Special Commodity Levy on imports of non-basmati non-parboiled semi/wholly milled rice (HS code 10063029) from LKR 65 per kg (USD 215 per tonne) to LKR 1 per kg (USD 3.3 per tonne) for imports that possessed an import control license issued by the Controller General, Department of Imports and Exports Control and a recommendation of the Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security on or before 21 January 2024 and whose Bill of Lading or Air Way Bill was dated between 2 and 21 January 2024. The measure was valid until 3 April 2024.
