DescriptionRenewed the exemption of the Common External Tariff (CET) of the East African Community on rice imports until 30 June 2025. As such, imports of paddy, husked, semi/wholly milled and broken rice would continue to accrue a 35 percent import tariff (or USD 200 per tonne, whichever is higher), rather than the 75 percent tariff (or USD 345 per tonne) that they would accrue under the CET.
