DescriptionOverturned the court order issued in April 2024 that reinstated the 35 percent customs duty on paddy other than for sowing (customs code 1006109000) and on selected classes of semi-wholly milled rice (customs code 1006309000) imported outside of existing trade agreements. As a result, effective 5 June 2024, the tariff rate for paddy other than for sowing was reduced to 3.5 percent, while the import duty on semi/wholly milled rice (customs code 1006309000) was lowered to 4 percent, in line with the rates established by the Ruta del Arroz reforms.
