DescriptionApproved imports of 250 000 tonnes of rice, in a bid to ease local supply tightness and keep prices under check. The volume includes 160 000 tonnes originating in the United States, as part of the 2012 and 2013 tariff rate quota set out under the US-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement, as well as an additional 90 000 tonnes of rice from Andean Community countries for import between March and May 2013.
