DescriptionReleased guidance on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act. To qualify for the tax credits, the SAF must show a minimum lifecycle greenhouse gas emission reduction of 50 percent compared with petroleum jet fuel. The use of soybeans and corn as feedstocks for SAF can qualify and will not require additional carbon capture, if grown using specific methods.
