An introductory guide for trainers

Year of publication2024
PublisherFAO
AbstractThe FAO technical guide, “Responsible business conduct in the avocado industry: a guide for producers and exporters”, was developed to support export-oriented businesses to mainstream sustainability and resilience in their operations, via the implementation of risk-based due diligence processes. To make this content accessible to producers, associations working with small growers, and other businesses, the Responsible Fruits Project has developed a comprehensive learning module. This module includes a training guide, a slide deck, and a workplan with a script for trainers. It is designed to build capacity for understanding and applying responsible business conduct in the avocado industry, particularly in identifying and prioritizing risks. This learning guide and supporting materials will be valuable tools for trainers and businesses in the avocado industry as they work to meet growing demands for sustainability and transparency from international markets. The development of these learning materials was possible thanks to the support of the Government of Germany.
