AbstractThe Monthly Price Update is an information product provided by the oilseeds desk of the Markets and Trade Division of FAO. It reviews the development of international prices for oilseeds, oils and meals as reflected by FAO’s price indices. In May 2024, the FAO price indices for oilseeds and oilmeals rebounded after declining continuously since December 2023. By contrast, the vegetable oil price index contracted from April following two months of strengthening. The indices for oilseeds and oilmeals remained moderately below their respective levels of a year ago, while the vegetable oil index stood 7.7 percent above its year-earlier level.
