A new application showcases the main sections of FAO website on mobile devices

16/09/2014

As part of its efforts  to create awareness on the fight against hunger and malnutrition, FAO launched today a free mobile application that showcases the main sections of the corporate website on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

This new App, called “FAOnow”, will allow Permanent Representatives and their counterparts in the capitals to stay informed about the latest news and events from the Organization.

The application, available for both Apple (iPhone, iPad) and Android (Nexus, Samsung, etc.) platforms, provides easy access to the main sections of FAO’s website, such as success stories from FAO’s work, latest news, events and documents, in the six FAO languages as well as Italian and Portuguese.

FAOnow downloads the latest information to the device so that it is available for offline use and  allows to save items as favourites for future quick reference. Furthermore, it allows the user to share interesting articles via email and social media outlets in just a few clicks.

More information on the App is available from: www.fao.org/2/faonow
