Rome, 02 March 2015 - In a letter addressed to the Director-General, the Chairperson of the Near East Regional Group has announced their endorsement of the candidature of Dr. José Graziano da Silva for a second term as Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

In the letter, the Ambassadors of the Near East acknowledge José Graziano da Silva’s valuable transformation of FAO into a dynamic results-based institution and a more robust  and competent organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and rural poverty and improving nutrition.
