(Ethiopia), Hybrid Event, 20/09/2023

The United Nations General Assembly at its 75th Session in March 2021 declared 2023 the International Year of Millets (IYM 2023). As part of the IYM2023 celebration, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is organizing a side event for the 4th All Africa Postharvest Congress and Exhibition (AAPHCE) on post-harvest management of millets and its potential to increase the well-being of communities and boost intra-African trade.

This event aims to promote partnerships and collaborations between stakeholders, including governments, farmers, private sector, civil society and research institutions to support the development of millet-based value chains, promote innovation and research, and improve the capacity of small farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to produce, store, process and market millets.
