Mr. Vinod Ahuja, FAO Representative in Mongolia met with Mr. Zandanshatar.G, the chairman of the State Great Khural and congratulated him on his appointment as the Chairman of the Parliament. He further acknowledged good ongoing cooperation between FAO and the Government and introduced brief chronicle of FAO Mongolia office including partnerships and support in technical areas such agricultural productivity, food safety, security, nutrition, crisis management, disaster, climate change, forestry, animal health etc. and expressed willingness to expand cooperation into new areas such as human nutrition, use of ICT on enhancing traceability, strengthening veterinary services capacity in Mongolia, etc.

Mr. Zandanshatar.G, the Chairman of the State Great Khural, thanked FAO for continuous support in achieving national development goals in food, agriculture and natural resource management sectors in Mongolia since its membership to the organization. He highlighted fighting animal diseases as a priority area. He also mentioned the need for capacity development for meeting the international standard for livestock husbandry specially to support export of livestock products from Mongolia. 

Both parties exchanged ideas on animal health, greenhouse and camel milk processing. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Zandanshatar informed Mr Vinod Ahuja, that Mr. Ulaan, Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry will be attending South South Cooperation 2^nd conference during 20-22 March in Buenos Aires in Argentina.
