Intelligent territories: opportunities for future investment - social, environmental and financial innovationRome, Italy
From: 05.06.2014 to: 05.06.2014The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Mountain Partnership (MP) are partnering with Earth Day Italia to organize a seminar entitled “Intelligent territories: opportunities for future investment - social, environmental and financial innovation” on 5 June 2014 at the FAO HQ in Rome. On the United Nations World Environment Day, the seminar aims to raise awareness about global importance of mountain and rural communities. Mountains – home to around one billion people – are source of many social, financial and environmental innovations that can play a vital role in promoting sustainable urban development. The two part seminar will feature interventions by among others, the FAO Assistant Director-General for Forestry Eduardo Rojas-Briales, Earth Day Italia President Pierluigi Sassi and the Mountain Partnership programme officer Rosalaura Romeo. A roundtable will follow on the new opportunities created by social and family-run enterprises for finance-backed development. Read more |
