From: 01.09.2016 to: 10.09.2016The next International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Conservation Congress will take place in Hawaiʻi on 1-10 September 2016. The Congress will bring together several thousand leaders and decision-makers from government, civil society, private sector and academia; with the goal of conserving the environment and harnessing the solutions nature offers to global challenges. A Knowledge Café called “Mountain Protected Areas: Leadership for Adapting to a Changing World” Mountain Partnership members and friends are welcome to take part in the Knowledge Café, a facilitated group conversation and exchange of ideas. The meeting is expected develop a deeper understanding of the threats and future challenges to conservation of mountain protected areas around the world by drawing on the wisdom and knowledge of the international mountains network and its various organizations and experts. The group will collaboratively develop actions that will be put to the IUCN/WCPA for support to contribute to achieving the goals of the IUCN 2017-2020 Programme.
