Mountain Partnership Steering Committee meeting

The Mountain Partnership (MP) Steering Committee (SC) meeting will take place at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ headquarters in Rome, Italy, on 23-24 April 2018. This will be the first official meeting of the SC since the new members were elected during the Fifth Global Meeting of the MP. The focus of the meeting will be to strategize how to promote the ‘Mountain Agenda’ and build a vision for improving the lives of mountain peoples and protecting mountain environments around the world. The SC will provide an overview of issues and challenges facing mountain communities in their respective constituencies in order to enhance effectiveness of the MP.

The 17-member SC – representing governments, civil society and international organizations – provides strategic guidance for the work of the Mountain Partnership Secretariat, the implementation of the ‘Mountain Agenda’ and the achievements and impacts of their respective electoral groups.
