World Food Forum side event: "Office-made solutions: from waste to better soil, food and environment"

Organized by FAO's Land and Water Division Youth Group and the Mountain Partnership Secretariat, this event will officially launch compoSITE, a composting site located on the rooftop terrace of the FAO headquarters. This event focuses on composting as a solution for climate change mitigation and better food practices, engaging FAO employees in sustainable solutions. Composting is a hands-on and simple way to strengthen food system circularity as it enhances soil health, waste management, nutrient cycling, water availability, biodiversity and climate resilience.

Hosted during the World Food Forum 2023 on FAO's rooftop terrace, this event will discuss the composting process, the use of compoSITE, and the impact of composting. The event will include a workshop on the links between soil nutrients, climate change and food production, insights from experts on the field, an interactive sorting game, and multilingual guidelines.
