The Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, ‘Invest Today for a Safer

Tomorrow’, will be held at the International Conference Centre of Geneva 19-23 May 2013.

The biennial Global Platform gathers together the world's disaster risk community from governments,

international and intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, local community representatives, scientific and academic institutions and private businesses.

It continues to shape the future of disaster risk reduction and provides fresh perspectives to how we can collectively build the resilience of communities and nations to disasters.

This session of the Global Platform holds special significance as an opportunity to further consult on a post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction. The outcome document, the Chair’s Summary, will reflect partners’ common priorities and directions in disaster risk reduction and building resilience as we head towards 2015.
