The Regional Conference on African Mountain Ecosystems as Impacted by Climate Change: post Rio+20 Actions is being organized 9-10 September by UNESCO and UNEP in cooperation with the Mountain Partnership Secretariat (MPS).

The scope of the workshop is to bring together experts, stakeholders and decision-makers to promoting
sustainable mountain development in Africa through strengthened cooperative actions. Africa governments will benefit from improved capacities and strengthened knowledge on mountain development related mattes especially on policies, laws, institutional frameworks, regional or international cooperation.

The workshop will result in recommendations being made for policy and decision makers both at the national and regional levels for actions that will promote sustainable mountain development in Africa.
