One hundred and fifty: the birth of alpinism in Trentino

June 4^th 2014 at 17:30 the tour for the celebration of the one hundred and fifty years from the birth of alpinism in Trentino will be presented. Egidio Bonapace, President of the Mountain Accademy, Claudio Bassetti, President of the SAT, and Luana Bisesti, Director of the TrentoFilmFestival will talk about the genesis of the book “East of Romanticism: 1876-1901, Victorian alpinists on the Dolomites”, written by Riccardo Decarli and Fabrizio Torchio and edited by the Mountain Academy which has investigated in depth not only on the Alpanist history of the Dolomites but also on the socio-cultural and literary context that characterized that era.

The exhibition “1864-2014, one hundred and fifty”, curated by Marco Benedetti, Roberto Bombarda, Riccardo Decarli and Fabrizio Torchio, will also be presented. The exhibition will celebrate these historic years through photographic reviews and painting reproductions. The packed calendar throughout which the exhibition and the book will be presented will be made known to the passionate public. The 14^th of june the first presentation f the book will take place at the TrentinoBookFestival of Caldonazzo and the exhibition will be open from the 15^th to the 29^th of June by the house of the Park of S. Lorenzo in Banale.
