The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Parks Congress takes place every ten years and this year will convene more than 5 000 participants from all over the world to zero in on ‘Parks, people, planet: inspiring solutions’.


This global forum on protected areas will share knowledge and innovation, setting the agenda for protected areas conservation for the next ten years. Discussions aim to address the gap in the conservation and sustainable development agenda.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), together with the Ministry of Environment of Japan and IUCN-World Commission on Protected Areas, is organizing an event, Stream 4 – Supporting Human Life to discuss natural resource management and conservation. Ev-K2-CNR and the Mountain Partnership Secretariat will launch a Federation of Mountain Protected Areas (FMPA).
