The Dushanbe Forum of Mountain Countries 2015: Water and Mountains will be held on June 08, 2015 at Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
The Forum is organized by the Central Asia Mountain Hub (hosted by University of Central Asia), jointly with the State Committee on Environmental Protection, the Government of the Tajik Republic. The event is hosted by the Government of the Tajikistan as a regional gathering of mountain stakeholders and will take place in parallel with the UN High Level Conference "Water4Life” (June 09-11, 2015). The "Dushanbe Forum of Mountain Countries 2015: Water and Mountains" will bring together mountain stakeholders from the Central Asian republics as well as Mountain Partnership members from the region as well as outside the region to discuss issues related to watershed management, food security and agriculture under climate change in Central Asia.
Building on the earlier regional and global forums on sustainable mountain development, the Dushanbe Forum aims to provide a platform for Central Asia mountain communities to connect with policy makers, government officials, parliament members, academic researchers and development partners in order to foster dialogue, promote interaction and share good practices on sustainable mountain development.
