International photo contest on mountain flora and fauna

MiratecArts is organizing an international photography contest under the theme of "Flora & Fauna from Mountains" to showcase mountain landscape, culture and life through arts.
Conditions of participation:
- Participation is open to any person over 21 years of age.
- Works must be submitted by 1 November 2015, via [email protected]
- The photographs presented, maximum of three per participant, may be in color, black-and-white or sepia. They must be original and unmanipulated except for color transformation for black and white or sepia, tweaking contrast, brightness and reframing.
- Photographs should be submitted in digital format JPG or JPEG, with dimensions of at least 2000 pixels on the longest dimension.
- Photographs should be accompanied by a maximum of 1200 characters (without spaces) specification, according to the contest theme.
The message for entering the competition should include:
- The title of the photo/s;
- The identification of the location of the photo;
- The approximate altitude where it was taken;
- Identification of the flora / fauna in the image;
- Name and phone number of the photographer.
The finalists’ (presented 11 December on the International Mountain Day) photos will be printed for the exhibition only and not for sale. The winners’ photos will also be used in the organization´s website and marketing materials, always crediting the artist. Photo rights retain with artists for any future use beyond MiratecArts and the Mountain Pico Festival.
National and International jury will be announced at a later date.
Finalists will take part in an exhibition on the island of Pico, Azores. The winners will also receive a future solo exhibition. The national winner will be awarded a prize that includes transport, accommodation and participation in the Mountain Pico Festival (January 2016). The international winner will receive local transport, accommodation and support on the island of Pico, to participate in the festival.
Mountain Pico Festival is an arts festival taking place in January on the island of Pico, Azores. Programming is subject to "the mountain" theme.
MiratecArts aims to enhance individual, team and organizational productivity in the world of artistic culture. Besides the Mountain Pico Festival, the association organizes the Azores Fringe Festival and projects DiscoverAzores, Artistas Lusos and the Public Art Route in Madalena, Pico.
