MiratecArts invites filmmakers to submit films about mountain culture depicting nature, adventure, expeditions and stories set in mountain scenery for the second edition of the annual Montanha Pico Festival to be held in January 2016.

Films in digital format can be shorts, medium or long features. Films cannot be in its entirety on the web for all to see. Films can be in English or Portuguese, or be subtitled in one of these languages. All film categories accepted including documentary, fiction, experimental, art, animation, etc. Films that educate and promote the environment, mountain culture and life in mountain settings qualify for presentation.

Films selected will be posted on the website www.picofestival.com in the month of December. The Festival happens in January. The Festival is not able to support filmmakers costs to travel. An audience-award prize is given to a filmmaker annually, chosen by the audience. The award includes a trip to next year’s festival. Montanha Pico Festival is an educational showcase festival that happens in Pico Island, Azores, Portugal.

Deadline for film submission is 1 October 2015.
