The festival title Milan Mountain is a collaboration between the Mountain University, which is the only academic institution(in Italy dedicated to the valorization and protection of the mountainous environment; the association Mountain in the City, active in the promotion and assessment of ski equipment; and Misiad, a Milanese a cultural association of design. It will take place on 8-10 October 2015 in the Great Hall of the University of Milan on Via Festa del Perdono 7.
The festival is targeted to sportsmen and enthusiasts and intends to promote and value mountain culture in is diversity, with particular reference to the field of innovation and technology, applied to sport, to the ideas of business in the mountainous territory and to the agribusiness, touristic and design industries.
The events will range from debates and meetings with sportsmen – including Markus Eder, the Olympic champion and first Italian to win a round of the Freeride World Tour – and scientists to testimonies from young entrepreneurs, tastings of saffron products, an exposition of new mountain equipment and technologies, photographic shows and video festivals.
Unlike the previous edition, this year there will be a space dedicated to design in addition to the forum “Youth in action: mountain and business”. The initiative Milan Mountain Vibram Factory will be a space to show to the interested public and private sector prototypes and projects dealing with equipment and technologies for the mountain.
