Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2016

Turin, Italy
From: 22.09.2016 to: 26.09.2016

Slow Food’s "Terra Madre Salone del Gusto", or Mother Earth's Fair of Flavours, will be held on 22-26 September 2016 in Turin, Italy. Every two years, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto brings chefs, scientists, food producers, students, designers, farmers and politicians together to work toward a food system where good, clean and fair food is available for everyone.

The Mountain Partnership Secretariat (MPS) will be among the panelists of the session “Living in the mountains” that will discuss strategies to safeguard mountain dwellers and promote youth employment, taking place at Valentino Park and Po River on 24 September at 13:30-15:30.

The MPS will present the Mountain Products Initiative, a project in collaboration with Slow Food to sustain quality small scale production in mountain areas of developing countries. Project members Fundación Participación y Sostenibilidad - PASOS (Bolivia), Flor de Leche (Bolivia), Pan Himalayan Grassroots Development Foundation (India) and Agency of Development Initiatives (Kyrgyzstan) will participate in the event to share their experiences.

The 2016 Terra Madre Salone del Gusto marks the 20th anniversary of the event and Slow Food Italy’s 30th anniversary. This year, the event will take place entirely outdoors across several historical sites in the city of Turin. The event will feature diverse conferences, lectures, workshops and food. Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is open to all visitors.
