OSCE High-Level Conference on Climate Change

Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid will host the OSCE High-Level Conference on Climate Change in Vienna on 7 July 2023.

The conference will gather Ministers, Climate Envoys and other high-level political actors of OSCE participating States and partners, as well as representatives of international organizations, civil society, climate security experts and practitioners.

The conference aims to address the potential implications of climate change for security and stability in the OSCE area, focusing on the OSCE's efforts in tackling climate change through concrete projects aligned with its comprehensive security approach. It will also be an opportunity to explore prospects for further action, share experiences and highlight areas in which practical cooperation and partnerships can be strengthened, and promote the critical roles that women and youth play as key stakeholders.

The OSCE High-Level Conference on Climate Change will be a one-day in-person event consisting of three panel discussions and four spotlight sessions.
