The International Day of Forests is a celebration of the vital role all types of forests and trees outside forests play in sustaining livelihoods. It is also an occasion to raise awareness about the numerous services forests provide to humanity and an opportunity to promote concrete activities at local, national and international level to strengthen sustainable management and conservation of forests and trees for the benefit of current and future generations.
