Feast of the Other Snow

The Regional Park of the Sirente Velino, covering about 56 000 hectares of mountains and highlands in central Italy, hosts a variety of rare fauna and flora. In fact, all large Abruzzo mountain fauna present, including bears, wolves, deer and Apennine chamois. A tourist destination, the park can be visited through guided tours organized by Nereide Association, who began working with the Park Authorities and other partners to initiate an alternative proposal to the current development model. 

The Feast of the Other Snow, or “Festa dell’Altra Neve,” is organized in the Rocche Highlands by local associations, municipal offices and park authorities and will feature a weekend of touring the park, visiting historical sites and taking part in conference discussions.
