The Dolomites embrace human rights

On Sunday 13 September 2015 a human chain will embrace the three Lavaredo summits to call for freedom, justice and peace - everywhere and for everyone. On the 40th anniversary of its presence in Italy, Amnesty International is holding – in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Insieme si può, or Together We Can – an event: a human chain that will hug the three Lavaredo mountain tops in the Dolomites.

In the land where a hundred years ago the Great War occurred, 6 000 people and 12 000 hands will form a long human chain to symbolically protect every woman, man and child whose fundamental human rights are denied. The fundamental rights, without which humans are no longer human: the right to food, health, education, peace and freedom of expression. For a world of freedom, justice and peace, join Amnesty International on 13 September.
