International Conference on “Mountains and Climate Change: Resources, Challenges & Opportunities for Better Life & Livelihoods”

The Integrated Mountain Area Research Center (IMARC) of the Karakoram International University in collaboration with Government of Gilgit – Baltistan, World Wildlife Fund – Pakistan, Mountain Agriculture Research Centre, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Ev-K2-CNR and International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is organizing an international conference on mountains and climate change to promote greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change in the mountainous region of Pakistan.

The international conference aims to bring together researchers, policy makers and relevant stakeholders to share latest knowledge on the themes ranging from climate change adaptation and mitigation to strategies for sustainable mountain livelihoods. Furthermore, the conference seeks to promote science-based policy solutions to address challenges for agriculture in mountain regions.
