Andahuaylas, Peru
From: 14.06.2016 to: 18.06.2016

For four days in the city of Andahuaylas, people who live in rural parts of the Andes in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will meet again for a meeting of knowledge and practices, organized by REDAR Peru  and the Ministry of Agriculture of Peru.

Identify and systematize the knowledge, technology and ancient techniques of rural communities as viable alternatives to address climate change, food insecurity and rural poverty, is the objective of the VII Meeting of Knowledge and Practices of Rural Andean Peoples, “Conocimientos y prácticas Ancestrales Andino- Amazónicos en los sistemas agrícolas: Potencialidades y desafíos”, or "Ancestral Andean-Amazonian Knowledge and Practices in Agricultural Systems: potentials and challenges".

The meeting is a forum for the exchange of experiences, cooperation and dialogue among Andean peoples to visualize and disseminate knowledge and ancient techniques that rural communities have used since time immemorial in the adaptation to microclimate variability and development of social productive systems, mainly in management of natural resources, management of production systems and the organization for work. It also aims to generate and promote synergies between people and institutions that are committed to research and development in the Andean area.

It is co-organized by AGRORURAL and CONDESAN, and has the support of the Regional Government of Apurimac and local municipalities of Andahuaylas and Chincheros.

They will be intense days in which the interaction and learning among participants and researchers under an agenda that provides space for keynote presentations, work in groups, field visits and Products Fair is expected available every day of the event.

Register by 15 May 2016.
