Mountain Cultures Photo Contest

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) received over 345 photos from 57 countries for the #MountainsMatter photo contest, which asked people to capture the diversity of mountain culture in pictures. Organized in the run-up to International Mountain Day on 11 December, the aim of the contest is to help promote the vast array of mountain identities and ensure that indigenous rights are recognized and traditional ways endure. The six finalists in the contest are now open to the public vote to choose an overall winner on FAO’s Facebook page. Vote for your favourite entry by 'liking' it on Facebook by 19.00 CET on 11 December.
