Latin American Forum on Participatory Guarantee Systems

The Latin American Forum on Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGSs) will take place from 16 - 20 October 2023, in Tarapoto, Peru, and is organized by the Asociación Nacional de Productores Ecológicos (ANPE) de Peru.

This Forum will center its discussions on critical topics related to PGSs, agroecological production, short value chains and market channels. Attendees will include representatives from civil society and authorities from various Latin American countries, such as Argentina, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

The primary outcome of the Forum will be the Tarapoto Declaration, which will pave the way for the future of PGSs in Latin America. Additionally, it will contribute to sustainable mountain development and align with the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions (2023-2027) established by the United Nations General Assembly.
