Kranjska Gora, Slovenia
From: 12.06.2024 to: 14.06.2024

The upcoming conference "Joint action for the Alps – conserve, connect, and restore" will be held from 12 to 14 June 2024 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. This international conference is jointly organized by the Slovenian Presidency of the Alpine Convention and the International Scientific Committee on Research in the Alps (ISCAR).

The vast territory of the Alps has been shaped by a specific biodiversity and geodiversity that have made it an area of great value, particularly for quality of life of the communities living there. Faced with numerous threats, the Alps need joint action to conserve, connect and restore these sensitive Alpine ecosystems.

This three-day conference will offer participants the opportunity to examine the challenges facing bio- and geodiversity in the Alps and what policy, scientific and social aspects need to be strengthened to safeguard their future.

Join for three days of discussions starting with the Alpine Convention Biodiversity Conference on 12 June, followed by the scientific conference ForumAlpinum "The Alps – A Refuge for Bio- and Geodiversity?" on 13 June, and a concluding thematic field trip on the final day.
