Grameen Himalayan Haat (Rural Himalayan Fair)

Mountain Partnership member, Aarohi Society, is hosting the Grameen Himalayan Haat (Rural Himalayan Fair), from 23 to 27 October at Aarohi Bal Sansar's School Grounds in the village of Satoli, Nainital district, Uttarakhand, India. The haat is a 5-day event that is held from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. 

Aarohi and the local community at village Satoli and its neighbouring villages have been conducting the Grameen Himalayan Haat since 2001. The idea behind the haat is to serve as a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage, local crafts and organic produce of the Himalayan region while promoting sustainable livelihoods for mountain communities. The haat invites self-help groups, farmer producer organizations, and other organizations working in Uttarakhand to be a part of the larger umbrella of a common marketplace to showcase their produce.
