Centro de Investigación Producción y Extensión Agropecuaria (CIPEA) is an organization that focuses on field work and the transfer of traditional knowledge to rural communities. CIPEA helps promote the traditional knowledge of mountain communities living in the Andes, as well as the role traditional knowledge plays in the adaptation to mountain environments and high altitudes (above 3.500 meters). The organization sets alliances with indigenous communities for organizing trainings about the conservation of traditional knowledge, as well as linkages with public and private institutes to carry out technology transfer activities. Ancestral knowledge is studied and adapted to so that traditional practices can be used in the area. |
