The Alpine Foundation for Life Sciences is a non-governmental organization dedicated to science, education, culture, and technology in mountainous regions. It is based and primarily operates in the Blenio Valley, within the canton of Ticino (Switzerland). The Foundation consists of two main branches: an analytical chemistry and toxicology laboratory, and a second laboratory devoted to research and scientific outreach in the field of natural sciences. As a "distributed" laboratory, the latter project aims to promote scientific and cultural education on transdisciplinary topics, such as landscape and biodiversity conservation within the Alpine region, climate change adaptation, and the preservation of biocultural heritage. |
