Ayuntamiento de Campoo de Yuso is a local public administration that exercises functions of management in the territory of the southern slope of the Cantabrica mountain range. The territory consists of an area of 80 sq km and 14 villages, situated on the right bank of the Ebro River, next to an extensive reservoir. Since 2014, Ayuntamiento de Campoo de Yuso has developed several sustainable forest management projects. It has developed specific conservation and recovery projects for rare tree species, such as yew, carpinus and elm. The City Council has a specific programme to control the indiscriminate use of fire in the extensive cattle raising of the Cantabrian Mountains. |
