The Centro de Investigação de Montanha (CIMO) is a multidisciplinary research unit that focuses on Mediterranean mountain issues and is based at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Portugal. CIMO is part of the national research network coordinated by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT), and a member of Euromontana. CIMO is socially committed to enhancing opportunities and income in mountain areas. The Centre is comprised of 157 researchers (83 integrated PhD holders), specialists in a wide range of fields in natural, social and engineering sciences, that focus their research on the promotion of sustainable mountain development through the use of endogenous resources and creation of value chains. |
