International Institute of Mountains

The International Institute of Mountains (IIM) is a state-run information and analytical research organization dedicated to promoting sustainable mountain development. Founded in 1998, IIM has been a leading organization in advocating for the mountain agenda and has actively participated in organizing and implementing events such as the International Year of Mountains in 2002 and the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development in 2022. IIM is committed to collaborating and cooperating with other Mountain Partnership members to advance sustainable mountain development worldwide.
