Georgian Technical University - Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development

Georgian Technical University (GTU) is the sole university in Georgia offering bachelor-level training for mountain specialists. Since its establishment in 2021, the GTU Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development has led the way in creating four Bachelor of Arts degrees that cover rural environment sustainability, organic farming management, mountain tourism and environmental protection.

These programmes are prioritized by Georgia, receiving full state funding, and are fully integrated to address and adapt to the challenges encountered in Georgia’s mountainous regions. Currently, the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development boasts an enrollment of approximately 300 students. The university administration is committed to supporting this faculty in addressing mountain-related issues and enhancing educational standards.
