Natural resource management position in Iran

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Forestry Division is seeking a Chief Technical Advisor for a Global Environment Facility (GEF) co-funded project in Iran on “Rehabilitation of forest landscapes and degraded land with particular attention to saline soils and areas prone to wind erosion”.
The international Chief Technical Adviser should have: a minimum of ten years of experience in Natural Resource Management / forestry with broad international experience in the area of
- sustainable land and forest management/ restoration in dryland areas with extensive field experience in watershed management planning and implementation in semi-arid and arid regions;
- extensive practical experience with community-based participatory approaches and forest landscape restoration/ combating desertification and land degradation;
- a good understanding of the requirements for a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system;
and
- strong project coordination, motivational and interpersonal skills and be a team leader.
