![]() Students promote the SDG mountain targets22.11.2017On 4 October 2017, members of the Utah International Mountain Forum (UIMF), a coalition of student clubs at Utah Valley University (UVU), promoted the three mountain targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the celebration of United Nations Day at UVU. The event was a part of an ongoing campaign coordinated by the UVU Office of Global Engagement to raise awareness about the SDGs among students, faculty and local communities in the state of Utah, United States of America. Through an engaged learning approach, UIMF members contributed to the overall goal of the campaign: to explain to their peers how to work towards implementing the 17 SGDs and their 169 associated targets adopted by the United Nations in 2015. UIMF members raised awareness during the event about the importance of the three mountain targets of the SDGs, including the role of the Mountain Partnership Secretariat and numerous Mountain Partnership members who were directly involved in a UIMF will continue its efforts to raise awareness at local and regional levels about the mountain targets and their implementation during other activities of the campaign of the UVU office of Global Engagement to promote SDGs during 2017-2019.
