Call for applications for master’s programme on sustainable mountain development

02.04.2024

The University of Milan's University of the Mountain (UNIMONT) campus is now accepting applications for the master's degree programme "Valorization and sustainable development of mountain areas" (MOUNTAINSIDE – class LM-73).

Taught in English, the international training course integrates various disciplines to foster a systemic and current understanding of the development of mountain areas. Students will cultivate their ability to promote the conservation of fragile mountain ecosystems while simultaneously advancing development processes in mountain areas, connecting the local dimension with the supra-local, national and European dimensions. Course content will discuss a range of topics, such as sustainable tourism, circular economy, supply chains, agrifood systems, health and medicine.

Students will develop their skills to develop business and marketing strategies adapted to the mountain context. They will also be able to use digital communication techniques and methodologies that allow an effective interaction between rural mountain and urban areas.

The lessons will take place entirely at the UNIMONT Campus in Edolo, Italy, a mountain town located in the heart of the Central Alps.

Enrolment in "Valorization and sustainable development of mountain areas" is open until 31 October 2024 for European Union (EU) applicants, while the deadline for non-EU visa applicants is 30 April 2024.
