Cleaning up the Margalla hills

Mountain Partnership member, the Hashoo Foundation (HF) in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Sunbeams School System organized a plantation drive, nature walk and clean-up operation in Islamabad, Pakistan and the Margalla hills on 24 March 2019.

The objective was to contribute to the healthy and natural environment of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), educate youth and increase greenery through a plantation drive and nature walk. Additionally, to raise awareness on environment friendly practices and waste management, a clean-up operation was also organized to discuss the importance of waste disposal.

Participants included students from the Hashoo Youth Development Centers (YDCs), Hashoo Foundation staff members, officials from the CDA and the management of Sunbeam School System.

An educational quiz competition on conservation and waste management was organized for students who were awarded prizes
