Need to Rewrite the Mountain Perspective

Fragile, remote and marginal. These three adjectives are commonly used to address mountains in the so-called ‘mountain perspective’, said Indian development analyst Dr. Sudhirendar Sharma on chimalaya.org. For two decades, this self-deprecating approach has been the leitmotif of most research/development on mountain issues in the Himalayan region. And what if this narrative would be rephrased with positive expressions such as rich, robust and exquisite?
