Call for posters for High Summit 2013 Conference

The Ev-K2-CNR Committee has issued a call for posters from young researchers and students for its High Summit 2013 International Conference on Mountains and Climate Change taking place in Lecco, Italy, 23-25 October.

The scientific meeting welcomes abstracts on a variety of topics under the following headings: climate, mountain ecosystems, cryosphere, water, and environmental and socio-economic impacts of climate change.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 30 June 2013.

The conference aims to present current knowledge on mountain ecosystems from scientific and socio-economic points of view, and high-level speakers will facilitate discussions among the experts and the conference audience.

A document summarizing the main outcomes of the meeting will be presented at the next United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP19) in Warsaw, where Ev-K2-CNR will promote a side event dedicated to the role of mountain resources and related ecosystem services which need to be prioritized in the international context of the promotion of sustainable development under the impact of climate change.
